Precautions during the use of Weichai diesel generator sets
Release time:2023-10-11 Visited:45

Weichai diesel generator sets have won praise from customers for their stable and reliable quality and fast after-sales response, laying a solid foundation in the field of generator sets and occupying a high market share. Many customers make mistakes during the use of generators, which can easily cause damage to the machine. Therefore, this article briefly introduces the precautions when using a generator set:

1. Diesel engine runs when oil is low
The main reason for this problem is that novices do not check the oil level before operation, resulting in insufficient oil supply, friction leading to insufficient surface oil supply, abnormal wear or burns. Therefore, it is recommended that operators ensure sufficient oil before starting the machine and during the operation of the diesel engine to prevent cylinder pulling and tile burning faults caused by oil shortage in the Weichai generator set.

2. Machine overspeed and overload operation for use
If the machine is severely overloaded, diesel engines can easily increase the thermal and mechanical loads borne by the generator cylinder liners, pistons, and connecting rods, leading to faults such as cylinder pulling and shoe burning. Frequent overload operation leads to prolonged rough combustion of the cylinder, which can easily damage the cylinder gasket and reduce the lifespan of the unit.

3. Running with low oil pressure
If the oil pressure of the generator set is too low, the lubrication system cannot perform normal circulation and lubrication, and each lubrication component cannot obtain sufficient oil. So during driving, the equipment should pay attention to observing the oil pressure gauge or oil pressure indicator light. If the oil pressure is found to be lower than the specified pressure, it should be stopped immediately, and the fault should be eliminated before continuing driving.

4. Operating under insufficient cooling water or high cooling water and oil temperatures
Insufficient cooling water in diesel engines can reduce the cooling effect. Long term use of equipment temperature can cause major heating loads such as cylinder heads, piston components, and valves, accelerate oil aging, deterioration, and combustion, reduce oil viscosity, worsen lubrication conditions for cylinders, pistons, and main friction, and result in abnormal wear and tear. Overheating of a diesel engine can also worsen the combustion process, causing abnormal fuel injector operation, increased carbon accumulation, and poor atomization.

5. Slam the throttle before turning off the engine
For an operating generator set, sudden shutdown can cause significant inertia that can damage the components of the crank linkage and valve train, shortening their service life. In addition, if the throttle is slammed, fuel will flow along the cylinder wall because it enters the cylinder too late to fully burn, diluting the lubricating oil. It can easily lead to a significant increase in carbon deposition in the combustion chamber, leading to nozzle blockage and piston seizure.
