The diesel generator set plays a major role in supplying power to equipment and enterprises after a power outage. This document mainly introduces the components of the diesel generator set.
1. Crankshaft and main bearing
The crankshaft is a long shaft installed in the lower part of the cylinder block, which is equipped with an offset connecting rod journal, namely the crankshaft crank pin, which is used to convert the reciprocating motion of the piston and connecting rod into rotational motion. Oil supply channels are drilled inside the crankshaft to supply smooth oil to the main bearings and connecting rod bearings. The main bearing that supports the crankshaft in the cylinder block is a sliding bearing.
2. Cylinder block
The cylinder block is the framework of an internal combustion engine, and all other components of the diesel engine are installed on the cylinder block using screws or other connecting methods. There are many threaded holes on the cylinder block for connecting with other components with bolts. There are also holes or supports supporting Quzhou in the cylinder body; Drilling holes for supporting the camshaft; The cylinder bore that can be fitted into the cylinder liner.
3. Pistons, piston rings, and connecting rods
The function of the piston and the piston ring installed in its groove is to transmit the pressure of extinguishing fuel and air to the connecting rod connected to the crankshaft. The function of the connecting rod is to connect the piston with the crankshaft. The piston pin that connects the piston and connecting rod together is usually a fully floating type (the piston pin is floating on both the piston and connecting rod).
4. camshaft and timing gear
In a diesel engine, the camshaft controls the intake and exhaust valves; In some diesel engines, it can also drive smooth oil pumps or fuel injection pumps. The camshaft is timed by the crankshaft passing through a timing gear or camshaft gear that is in contact with the front gear of the crankshaft. This not only drives the camshaft, but also ensures that the valves of the diesel engine can be in precise positions with the crankshaft and piston.
5. Cylinder head and valve
The main function of a cylinder head is to provide a cover for the cylinder. In addition, the cylinder head is equipped with intake and exhaust ducts, allowing air to enter the cylinder and exhaust gases. These air passages are opened and closed by driven valves installed in the valve ducts on the cylinder head.
6. Fuel system
According to the load and speed of the diesel engine, the fuel system injects a precise amount of fuel into the cylinder of the diesel engine at a precise time.
7. Supercharger
The turbocharger is an air pump driven by exhaust gas, which provides pressurized air to the diesel engine. This increase in pressure, known as turbocharging, improves the efficiency of diesel engines.
8. Alternator
The AC generator is used to charge the battery and provide power for vehicle lighting and other accessories.
9. Change the shock absorber
The main function of the shock absorber is to attenuate the torsional vibration generated by the diesel engine during operation. The vibration damper is installed in front of the crankshaft.
10. Smooth oil cooler
The smooth oil cooler is installed to cool the smooth oil when the diesel engine is running. The structure of the cooler will allow cooling water and diesel engine smooth oil to flow simultaneously without mixing.
Understanding the functions of these components can help users better maintain their diesel generator sets and generators
