We purchase diesel generator sets as backup and may not use them for a long time. Many customers feel that we do not need to inspect and maintain them. This article mainly introduces the content of unit inspection and maintenance. Let's take a brief look together.

The diesel generator team leader also needs to be checked when not in use, which is more convenient for later use:
1. The air inlet of the diesel generator set needs to be sealed, and the sealing status needs to be checked in the later stage to prevent dust pollution and damage to the air filter element.
2. The circuit breaker of the generator set needs to be in a closed state to ensure the electrical safety of the circuit and the generator.
3. Check that the positive and negative poles of the battery are disconnected from the starting motor, and regularly charge the battery to maintain full charge.
4. The radiator of the unit needs to be filled with sufficient antifreeze to reduce engine rust or cold season damage.
5. During the storage period of the generator set, the machine room needs to be kept dry, clean, anti-theft, and fireproof.
6. Check the fuel filter and drain the fuel in the engine oil duct to prevent moisture in the fuel from causing rust and seizing of fuel injection components.
8. When stored for a long time and not in use, used lubricating oil (engine oil) should be drained to prevent it from deteriorating and thickening.

In addition to inspection, proper maintenance is also required:
1. Drain the fuel.
2. Turn the engine piston to the top center of compression.
3. Store indoors and cover with a cloth. Do not place in a damp place, and do not rotate the crankshaft regularly with flammable, explosive, or corrosive materials.

Only by correctly using and preserving the diesel generator set can it be guaranteed to start in a timely manner and ensure the supply of power in the event of a power outage.
