The customer operates an industrial park overseas, where the local grid is not very stable; they wanted production and IoT devices to keep running without delaying their production schedule. This Weichai generator set is powered by a Weichai WP6D132E200 engine, inline six-cylinder, with an electronically controlled injection pump: fuel delivery is controlled with relative precision and fuel consumption is comparatively easy to keep in check. An oil-water separator is fitted, which makes fluctuations in fuel quality easier to handle, and power under load stays in balance with running costs. The alternator is a Quanyi unit in all-copper brushless design, which removes the routine excitation maintenance steps; the 2/3 winding pitch gives a relatively stable waveform, suitable for precision instruments. For safety monitoring a SmartGen controller is used: on overcurrent, low oil pressure or high water temperature, the set generally raises an alarm and shuts down in time, which reduces damage losses. Because the customer operates the set abroad, the main components come from brands with service networks in overseas markets, so operating issues can usually be followed up relatively quickly.
